It is unusual in this day and age, that an employee remains with a business for so many years, or for that matter, that a business has the longevity of over 40 years. It is however, testament to both NTR and Martin, that both have endured difficult and challenging trading over the years.
With an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of customers, company histories and sector understanding, Martin is often called upon in how NTR targets and engages with particular audiences to ensure relationships continue to flourish.
Martin’s grounding in New Tooling and Tooling Refurbishment, means that he is able to discuss the requirements of clients with varying levels of engineering knowledge, whilst being the conduit between the customer and NTR’s engineering experts.
As a business with many strings to its bow, it is vital for NTR as a service provider, to promote all aspects of our skillset when often we are known for only one. As Head of Sales, Martin is key to promoting the whole gamut of the NTR engineering capabilities, even with companies who we have worked with for years.
In his spare time, Martin can often be found in the great outdoors hiking the North Yorkshire Coast with his beloved partner Debby. All this is a far cry from his youth when his need for speed was strong. Whether bikes, cars, yachts, jet skis or snow skis, Martin took on the lot until it started to hurt too much. Now cruising the slow lane, both he and Debby are self-confessed food-snobs, so they get their kicks from a delicious bistro meal and the perfect complimentary bottle. With a keen sense of humour and a chatty demeanour, Martin is a huge part of the NTR Family.
