Sam Wood
Experience
Joined NTR in 2008 as a 15 year old apprentice, as part of our investment in the future of engineering and of the business. Sam qualified with flying colours from his 4 year Precision Engineering Apprenticeship and quickly moved into a senior management role.
The rigorous, hands-on apprenticeship programme gave Sam a well-rounded understanding of engineering, but the practical experience in the role, has transformed him into one of the very best engineers that NTR has produced.
As General Manager, Sam not only enjoys running the sites, but also relishes the responsibility of developing the NTR Team in the way he experienced as a youngster joining the business. Sam believes in providing quality engineering to the exacting standards to meet customer needs.
Qualifications
- Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering at Leeds College of technology.
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
- NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (2x Distinction)
- BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing
- Winmax CNC Machine Programming
- Fork Lift Licence
- Qualifications in Motor Vehicle Maintenance
Personal
Sam is a self-confessed petrolhead, and is genuinely inspired by the precision engineering involved in Formula 1. As a result, brings his own engineering skills into play for the maintenance of his own cars and bikes. Family is very important to Sam and he brings that same ethos to NTR, creating a strong bond with his team. For his sins, Sam has been a Leeds United fan for too many years.
